WMBE / DBE Certification

Our Legal Services

There are a number of programs available at the federal, state, and local levels, designed to increase opportunities and promote a more competitive marketplace for businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, and other disadvantaged individuals. To be able to access these opportunities, a business needs to first be certified as a D/M/WBE business with the appropriate governmental entity. The processes and requirements, however, associated with obtaining certification, as well as compliance, whether to retain certification or properly and effectively use certified firms to meet contract goals, can be very complicated and cumbersome.

Our attorneys frequently assist businesses with applying for certification as a D/M/WBE, whether an initial certification in the home state, as well as multi-state certifications, utilizing certified firms towards meeting project goals and compliance, appeal of denials for certification, re-application following a previous denial, and other related matters.
